PubMed : Early-stage ovarian clear cell carcinoma tended to have high levels of HNF-1beta immunoreactivity. Low-level HNF-1beta expression was observed in patients with recurrence and high-level HNF-1beta was associated with good prognosis. Analysis of DNA-binding behaviour indicates that ARID1B binds DNA in a non-sequence-specific manner similar to ARID1A largest subunits of SWI/SNF participate in promoting transcriptional activation by the steroid hormone receptors ARID1A/BAF250A was identified as a new HIC1 partner. loss of ARID1A expression occurs in a small but significant proportion of colorectal carcinomas where it is strongly correlated with mismatch repair deficiency In small intestinal carcinoma, low or loss of ARID1A expression is correlated significantly with a high-grade tumour, higher T stage, and poorer overall survival ARID1A protein loss is associated with clinicopathologic characteristics in colorectal cancer patients and with survival in stage IV patients. Alteration of ARID1A may accelerate tumor growth in a subset of hepatocellular carcinoma, and this pathway may be distinct from p53 and beta-catenin pathways. ARID1A protein and mRNA expression was lower in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma tissue than in normal liver tissue. ARID1A may play an important role in the early events of gastric carcinogenesis.
